Hi! i’m new to ehx products having gotten a memory boy for christmas. The pedal sounds great but i noticed that it wasn’t getting anywhere near the 550ms delay time when i had the included power supply plugged in. I use a one spot power supply with a daisy chain to power all my other pedals and i pluged my memory boy into that and the delay time was a little longer, but not much. After that i put a new 9v battery in and the delay time was perfect. I basically got the pedal with the intent of using the 550 setting all the time so its something i have to have and i can’t afford to put a fresh battery in the pedal every few weeks. Has anyone else experienced this problem? And is there anything I can do to fix it?
Also i run a pretty big line of stomp boxes through the effects loop of a carvin legacy combo. I run a boss delay/reverb a hardwire delay and a hardwire reverb the memory boy a boss chorus ensemble and a bbe sonic maximizer and i plan on getting an ehx stereo electric mistress so I need to get a signal booster. I was looking to get the bbe boosta grande but then i noticed that ehx had the lpb-1 at half the price. I’m just a little concerned because it said that it is basically a replica of a pedal they made in the 60’s and 70’s. Would the lpb-1 be just as good as the boosta? also i was wondering where in my effects chain i should run the boost pedal. i was thinking i would run the pedals that i use for more subtle effects in the front of the chain and put the booster in the middle and run the pedals i wanted to be more obvious and have more power after the booster. Would that work or would it just put too much power through the pedals i run after it and burn them out?
That’s strange I’ve heard that if you use the supplied adaptor everything works fine. As far as the 1spot I’ve heard differing accounts of it working perfectly, but also it working a bit, like you said. I got a Memory Boy for Christmas but due to shipping it’s not here yet. I have a 1spopt as well, I’ll let you know what works for me.
