Hello
Really loving the Mel9 Pedal – got it two months ago, and acutally have been using it in several of our original songs. We have a keyboardist, and this allows me to do pads when there is a keyboard solo, and add cool texture.
Today, I turned it on, and nothing, when not engaged – I have full signal. Using Decibel 11 for clean power. It makes no noise, just doesn’t work. Is there a way to reset it?
Any ideas aside from obvious ones like power supply cables, running it separately, even changed the battery on my guitar.
Kind thanks
Andy

Weird, but an obvious fix if this happens to you. Great pedal otherwise, loving it. I would love a version with a couple user storable presets one day – would be more stellar for live shows.
Cheers!

Letting rest does nothing there is nothing to reset..
There may have been a problem somewhere else in the chain.
Are you using a daisy chain power supply?June 23, 2016 at 12:31 am #121646AndyParksParticipantInteresting. The rest of my whole chain has not changed still, its all velcro’d to hell and I actually left the mel9 in my chain during the whole rehearsal ,as it allowed bypass of signal to other pedals no problem – but when engaged-led on, no sound at all – was acting like a mute button. I had fiddled with all the knobs / unplugged – tried the adaptor that came with it, I am using the decibel eleven hot stone deluxe, with the approriate output power for the mel 9. It has 10 ports, its beautiful – pricey but it eliminated all noise and made everything sound better overall – I did not expect that from a power supply. I am also using brand new custom connectors that are about $40 each. The Mel is 2nd in my chain after a mild clean booster. Then Area 51 wah, t-rex mean machine, vintage tube screamer, boss me-50, line 6 green delay and a sonic stomp. I have an expression pedal for the delay. Pretty simple setup, but flawless and reliable. I have not changed the port on the d11 for the mel9 and its still working perfectly after that crash . I’m a 30+ year computer technician, programmer analyst, guitarist, drummer, bassist, singer, producer, web developer, network dude and pretty good at problem solving generally speaking & honestly tried everything under my hat. Probably a ghost in the machine. We may never know. I really appreciate the speedy follow up, thank you so much! I am really loving your pedals. Holy Grail is so cool – several friends swear by it. I might try the Ravish Sitar – wish there were somewhere close to try one, but I live in a tiny little mountain town, and generally read a bunch of reviews – then order blindly – like a box of chocolates: you never know what your gonna get. Gumpism’s aside, I ordered the Mel9 after watching a video and really got lucky with that roll of the dice.
Kind thanks

Some times the third party power supplies ramp up in voltage slowly. The Mel 9 like to see the voltage at full value you or it may stall.
This means replugging the 1/4 inch connector re boots the Mel9.
Just a guess that is what happened??? As you know if you cant repeat it your sunk and far as figuring it out.
Good luck and lets hope all stays well!!July 3, 2016 at 8:06 pm #121704TonyDMembermy C9 same problem no organ only lights up now no effects at all! where do i bring it for Rpair ?

Same problem with my C9. Actually, if you listen real close you can hear enough signal to confirm that the settings and knobs operate. BUT the output is so quiet that it is unuseable. I would really like to repair this pedal.I am using the original power supply.
Thanx
May 15, 2017 at 12:42 pm #122873CVSSParticipantI have a similar problem to that described above with the Synth 9 pedal. I works just fine in bypass mode. When I hit the footswitch, the light comes on and no synth sounds in any of the 9 channels. This happened after about a week of on and off usage. I am using the EHX supplied power chord/adapter and it is plugged directly into my wall socket. I am now a bit nervous about using this pedal on gig.
I have tried removing all cables, switching guitars, amps etc. The problem seems to be intermittent. It happens occasionally, but not all the time.
Any advice to help fix this issue would be appreciated as I really want to use this pedal on gigs – synth sounds are fantastic when it works!
FYI – I also own KEY9 and B9 pedals and have had no problems with either one

Ricky from customer service tried to return my call but the time zones and work could be an issue.
I just gotta get this great pedal working.May 17, 2017 at 3:29 am #122886EHX STAFFKeymasterAugust 17, 2018 at 9:32 pm #124204jeffyMemberI love my Mel9 – that is, when it works. About 50% of the time I want to use it – I get the clean non effected output out of that 1/4″ jack, but on the Mel9 output jack-I get nothing. No noise, no signal, nothing. I am using the proper supplied power wall wart. It’s hit or miss at gigs, which makes it very frustrating. Any thoughts? Thank you! Jeff Abbey

Switch may be dirty! Deoxit could help if that is the problem.
Deoxit is a contact cleaner spray.
