I’ve had the Mel9 for awhile now, just got the C9 a few weeks ago. I love these pedals so much!
My first question is about the Output Volume levels. It appears the C9 is much louder than the Mel9. The Effect Volume on the Mel9 is at 100% (Dry is 0%) and the C9 has to have the Effect Volume pulled back to about 40-50% to match. Not a pressing issue, but I was just wondering if this should be normal.
As a side note, these pedals have some settings that are super touchy with the Levels. I’d really prefer one consistent Volume Level coming out of these instead of jumping all over the place. Some settings are worse with this than others. I have a Boss CS3 compressor that I alternate between putting in front of the “9” pedals and putting after the “9” pedals in an attempt to quell those huge volume differences. Not as much luck as I had hoped though. Is there something inside I can adjust? Maybe trade my Compressor for a Limiter? Thanks!
The algorithm for the C9 and Me9 and completely different so their outputs are different in level.
As for the jump in volume it is down to playing technique and evening out the picking.
I know keeping the output control lower forces you to pick harder and that in effect helps level your playing.
I am VERY surprised a compressor does not help you. Place the comp after the 9,s and the comp sustain setting up .
That has to limit the output of the pedal…
A compressor was built into the Synth9 to address some of the level issue.
Thank you! I ‘ll try the Comp as you suggested. Maybe I didn’t have the settings dialed in correctly before….

Yes! Seems to work much better now as you suggested. Thank you!
