Hey everybody, just joined. I really enjoy my 16 second digital delay a lot but I feel like my understanding of this beast is a little mediocre.
First, the Octave function doesn’t seem to do what it’s supposed to. I record a loop, hit the octave, hit record to make a “bass line”, turn off the octave, and everything is back to normal speed but the pitch of the “bass line” doesn’t sound an octave down to me.
Second, what do you feel is the best approach to getting a cool reversed part on top of a rhythm track? When you hit reverse do you find yourself playing along to the tempo of the LED, or do you listen to the reversed rhythm track? I can get a lot of cool sounds through trial and error, but I’m looking for a more systematic way to approaching the reverse feature so I’m not just hoping the end result will sound nice.
Third, is there a way to record in a time signature that isn’t 4/4? I’m pretty sure there is no parameter that lets you choose, but have any of you found a way around it?
Finally, what cool things have you discovered or stumbled upon about this thing that a lot of people might not realize?
Thanks guys!

in terms of the 4-beat count-in if you’ve got a newer version of the reissue (coloured sliders not white) it should have the software inside to free yourself from the 4/4 grid. otherwise you can send it to ehx as i have to get it changed for $35.
for reverse sounds, i just solo first then reverse and see what happens. you can get another pedal for dedicated control over your reverse phrases, i wont advertise non-ehx pedals here as i love my ehx! the hazarai is great for reversing although its a little bit idiosyncratic in that regard. but there are a few others around, just make sure you can take out the dry signal so that the reverse only sound comes through. -
