If you buy one, there is missin still 2 parts.
Why do not insert
39nF at R42
100jF at C8
to make the Bass Muff Pi sound original like e-guitar effekt
the Black Russian Big Muff Pi tall version 6 screw.
I did the mods on the Bass Muff last year.
I bought the Black Russian Muff yesterday.
They are that close.
If i remember correctly, R42 affects only the boost funktion.
Pushes it from a bass boost to LPB1/HardOn like boost.
And C8 seems to be part of the low pass filter of the tone stack.
Today i will find some resistor in R42 instead of the capacitor
i used to fit in.
Did you like the Bass Muff for guitar?
This is my conclusion:
1kohm at R42,
restore highs, with the boost,
when bass is full engaged at the tone stack.
UPDATE:
In a regular Big Muff, the low pass filter in the tone stack
is build by R8 and C8.
The Bass Muff differs in R8 from the Green Russian Muff specs.
R8 is 11,5kohm instead of 20kohm in the original circuit.
I took a 68kohm resistor in parallel to R8.
C8 was completely missin, so i took .01uF there.
Now my Bass Muff sounds almost similar to a Russian Muff.
I had some experiment with the emiter resistor of Q1, too.
