Has anyone tried to feed a chain of effect pedals with the Boss LS-2 as a power supply unit (and the boss PCS-20A daisy chain)?
January 10, 2009 at 8:42 pm #90407electro-melxModeratorAs far as I know the LS-2 doesn’t actually do anything (power wise), it just provides a parallel DC outlet, so it would be the same as sticking the daisy chain on the end of the power supply, it all depends on the MA output of the power supply and the draw of each pedal. The MA of the power supply should be printed on it….if you tell us that and what pedals you are planning on powering (including the LS-2) then we’ll have a better idea.
January 10, 2009 at 10:02 pm #90415oolliivviieerrMemberthe pedals I’m planning on powering are Germanium OD (?mA) Dunlop Crybaby (20mA), Digitech Bad Monkey (17mA), The Boss TR-2 Tremolo (20mA), the Danelectro BLT (?mA)
January 10, 2009 at 10:36 pm #90416electro-melxModeratorok, none of those are big draw pedals but what power supply are you using, you won’t be able to power that lot off the battery in the LS-2 if that’s what you are thinking.
January 19, 2009 at 1:23 pm #91099oolliivviieerrMemberThe Germanium OD is said to require 100mA. So the LS-2 isn’t able to power all these pedals. I bought the Diago Power Supply on the diago’s website, and it sounds perfect. My chain of effect pedals works without any noise.
Concerning the LS-2, would you recommand it for switching between effect loops?

I’ve never used an LS-2, plenty of people do use them though so I guess it must be ok at what it does?
I’m a fan of these guys. (UK)

yep. Red Onion are great.
the LS-2 is a good pedal to have around though if you like messing around with effects routings.
it’s great in that it has so many modes including for switching loops or for having parallel effects loops.some people seem to complain about the LS-2 being a tone-sucker… it’s been several years since i had one but i certainly didn’t have any problems (that i can remember).
January 21, 2009 at 7:30 pm #91356oolliivviieerrMemberMy modulation pedals ( Tremolo, echo, chorus) and my distortion pedals (bad monkey, germanium OD) have very different output levels. Do you think loops with a LS-2 or red onion pedal would be a good way to solve this problem.
Which product would you recommend? (Boss LS-2 or onion, ans Which options if the red onion)? Thanks
