Hi, I’m considering buying the LPB2ube pedal, but I’m confused about its voltage.
The press releases, etc, claim that the pedal applies 300 volts to the tube plates, however the power adaptor is only 12 volts.
Could someone please clear this up for me? I didn’t think it was possible to generate 300 volts out of 12…
Thanks,
Damon.
I’m no technical expert, but there is a transformer inside the pedal, it works in the same way as an amplifier I’d imagine, you plug an amp in to usa voltage (110v) but there will be far higher voltages than that going on inside a tube amp.
so yeah, it is possible to generate massive voltages out of 12v. (just don’t ask me how exactly)
if you want a more technical answer, I’m sure someone else will be able to give you it.
AC can be stepped up to a higher DC level.
