I play guitar in a metal band. I have an existing distortion pedal in my signal chain but I needed a booster pedal to boost my guitar solos above the band and I chose the LPB1 for that. I have read reviews where some folk place it before their distortion pedal and others place it at the end of the signal chain. I don’t want to change the tone of my affects. I just want to boost my guitar solos. My Wah pedal is at the end of my signal chain because if I place it before anything else in my signal chain, that affects the Wah tone and weakens it. So my choices are to place the LPB1 right before the Wah, or place it at the beginning of my signal chain before the distortion pedal. Which placement will give me what I want- a clean boost of my guitar solos?

Having it before distortion is just like having a hotter (higher-gain) pickup.
But if you have already achieved the desired level of distortion and just want to make it louder, then it needs to be after distortion.
Same with the wah. If it’s before the wah, things will get louder, but it will also drive the wah harder. This could affect the wah tone somewhat, but the wah certainly won’t get any weaker!
Generally, if all you want is just a pure volume boost, then a boost pedal should be placed at the end of the chain.

It adds an indescribable warmth and perfect level of additional gain to my solos that gives me the tone I’ve been chasing my entire life. This thing is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!!! Now my pedalboard is complete and I’m ready for our 7/4 gig in Dalton, GA.

…and yeah, the LPB-1 is a great cheap pedal for adding that little extra something.
