I’m thinking of buying an LPB 2ube and using channel 1 as a line driver at the beginning of my pedal board and channel 2 as a line driver at the end of the board. Does anyone here have experience using this pedal for unity gain? Among the effects I’m using is an English Muff’n, so I’m really not interested in all the demos and reviews of the 2ube as an overdrive. Any thoughts at all?
Sounds like a cool idea. The only problem I can think of is the high gain/low gain switch is global. If you plug your guitar directly into it, you want it on high gain. If your effects send it a line level signal, then you want it on low gain or else you might overload it and get distortion. It’s possible you might be able to compensate by keeping the return channel drive/volume low, or by balancing levels between channels and effects without creating noise. I’m not sure. I go into one from a effects box(AdrenaLinn 3) and had to put it on low gain because the box would drive it too hard.
