I have an LPB-1 Nano boost pedal and the left input jack (amp) has to be jiggled around to get it to work and get a connection. It buzzes really bad until it gets that connection then it works fine. But any slight movement causes the cable to lose the connection again and it buzzes (ex: if I step on the pedal…so this defeats the purpose unless its always on, which its not). Its quite annoying.
Any suggestions on whats causing this and how to fix it? Heres a picture of the inside of the part thats causing the issue. It’s circled in white.

6 of them underneath the board.
August 5, 2011 at 4:53 am #110148Mr.GrimMemberyeah you need to remove the board to get to all the solder on the other side.
BUT…be very very careful! in order to remove the board you need to remove the knob and unscrew the pot on the front of the unit. unfortunately these new knobs are pressed on and not ment to be removed, there for, many people carelessly trying to remove the havem also broken the pot as well!!!

Thanks for the tip. Though I’ve removed the board a few times already to inspect it for the problem. I’ll remove it again tonight when I get home and look at the solder joints.
If thats not it, is there a place to buy a replacement part?
August 6, 2011 at 1:04 am #98582CryabetesParticipantplenty. smallbear electronics and mouser. there’s a ton for electronics parts. you’re looking for an enclosed, cb mounted stereo [TRS/Tip-Ring-Sleeve] Jack.
August 9, 2011 at 1:52 am #103140mobkonMemberRealized what the issue is. The pot has come un-glued from the board and is causing the connections to be lose. Therefor, when the pot knob is fasted to the case, jiggling the cable moves the board a bit and makes those connections.
SO, what I need to do is re-attach the pot to the board. What’s the soft clear glue thats used? What else can I use? Will super glue work?
Thanks!
August 9, 2011 at 2:07 am #103106The EH ManModeratorI would use either some silicone or hot glue. Definitely not super glue. You may also need to touch up the solder connections on the pot.

August 9, 2011 at 4:07 am #103490Mr.GrimMemberjust go to walmart or your local everything store and go to the craft section, they have tiny glue guns there for like $5. that will be cheaper than one tube of silicon and you can use it again!
