i just received my germanium 4 today. i added it to my pedal chain as follows: wilson effects haze vibe-barber trifecta fuzz-jetter gs3 od-germanium4 od/distortion-rocktron guitar silencer(gate/hush)-boss dd-line 6 verbzilla-amp(egnater rebel/egnater 2×12 cab). i get a loud hiss from the od side only of the germanium. it occurs when i hit open strings or hold on a chord and the hiss gradually tapers off. i took the pedal out of the chain and connected it directly to the amp. not only was the hiss worse on the od side, it also occurred with the distortion side as well. i changed guitars, power supply(neg center being used as recommended) incl using 1spot 9v rather than the dc dunlop brick which i use with my chain/pedal board. guitar cables/patch cables working ok. i stood further away from amp. none of this reduced the hiss. i cannot use the od side if this hiss persists. any help? the rocktron helped reduce the hiss noted before i started playing and the loud hiss noted when i first struck a chord or picked a string but not the hiss that lingered and tapered of after the chord was struck. i can’t play any open strings without the loud hiss or chords with open strings.
