I got my Killswitch today and was just wondering about the type of foot switch it has. I was expecting the sort of momentary switch like the left-hand one on the SMM, which does the tap tempo, or on the POG2 where it changes the preset, neither of which click. The footswitch on my Killswitch has a definite click, more what you’d expect of a latching switch, I suppose. It’s not as hard a click (doesn’t require as much pressure) as on any of my other EHX pedals with latching foot switches (like the right-hand switches on those pedals just mentioned); it’s softer, somewhere between the two and with less travel, but it does feel like it would be more fluid without the ‘click’. I’m sure with a bit of practice I’ll get used to the amount of pressure needed to trigger the switch with fluidity, but wondered if there was any particular reason for that type of switch being used rather than the ‘tap-tempo’ sort, and what anybody else thinks who’s tried it.
