hello everybody first post here
ive finally decided on what looper to get after alot of research and the 2880 w/footpedal seems to fit my bill exactly and then some.
does anyone here have experience with the 2880? any problems with it? anything at all worth noting? any suggestions of any sort?
btw im not using this with a guitar, in fact i dont play guitar at all. ill be running a turntable and a synth through a Rane TTM56 scratch mixer. a korg koass pad 3 will be in the FX send/return of the TTM56. all of that will be then routed to the 2880.
any feedback appreciated
i cant wait to get this thing

January 8, 2009 at 12:06 am #90294spencer vexMemberso the 2880 arrived today and i just opened it up.
first impression was of the build quality. it seems to be built extremely well except for the rotaries…
they feel loose or flimsy. anyone else notice this on any EH product?
this is my first EH purchase and ive been hearing such good things
whats up with the dials tho?
January 8, 2009 at 1:03 am #90297spencer vexMemberok now somethin seems weird
i just opened the user manual and it looks as if it was put together by hand… possibly a 10 year olds hands
serially, the pageas are all over the place. all bent up lookin like a backdoor xerox job.
what gives?
January 8, 2009 at 1:05 am #90298electro-melxModeratorI suspect they aren’t ‘normal’ pots do they spin right round like the hazarai knob or whatever…I don’t know what to call them…digital pots or something!?

hahaha, is this your first ehx pedal? all ehx ‘manuals’ are photo copied sheets of paper!
why pay extra for a glossy manual is the motto I guess.

ah, thats kind of annoying…..although at least you’ll have some fun with it now and then when the foot controller arrives it will seem new and exciting again!!
I’m kinda jealous, I’d love one of those. The video demo totally blew my mind the first time I saw it.

are there any EH employees who can comment on this?
these rotary dials (example: inputs, pans, clix level etc…) are wobbly
meaning they actually wobble from side to side… the clix level dial being the worst
are they supposed to be like this?
thanks
January 9, 2009 at 12:11 am #90339McSpunckleMemberI have a 2880. I don’t find the knobs flimsy or loose. They are small and plastic, though. Probably just what they have to use to fit.
January 9, 2009 at 12:28 am #90340spencer vexMemberwell actually as soon as i unwrapped it from the bubble wrap and bag it was in i went right for the faders. specifically because im going to be using the track faders alot. being the skratch head that i am i know what heavy use can do to a contact fader. all was well with the faders.
then i started turning dials. everything was cool until i got the the clix lever dial. it felt “flimsy” so i inspected further. the dial cap slid off it pretty easily and i saw the stem. the stem turned just fine, but it had alot of play from side to side… thats what i mean by the “flimsy” feel. it feels as if the dial isnt seated or mounted to the unit very well. after putting the cap back on i checked others and found a couple of others that just dont feel mounted well. they spin or turn just fine, but move around within the faceplate hole.
other than that im totally impressed with this product. its easily the nicest looper ive ever laid hands on.
i just hope this unit lasts for a long time.
January 9, 2009 at 1:31 pm #90359exil2009Membergreat tool! mainly using it for voice only performance.
now what would be REALLY great if future models could have the possibility
to pitch the 4 tracks independently!and a volume control for the aux input would be good.
January 13, 2009 at 5:15 pm #90640salbadorMemberHello, I´ve just got one too. My knobs seem ok, not loose or anything. My question is another: I´d like to use one loop as rythm, and build it real fast, so I can play the rest of the tune with that rythm. But it seems that the rest of the tracks all remain with the same length of the first one I record. Isn´t it possible to record longer tracks than the first recording, without it going overdubbing once the length of the first recording reaches the end?
Thanks
Sal
