Hey guys!
I’ve been thinking a lot about buying a Micro Pog recently, to fatten up the guitar sound in our band a bit. For some time now, I’ve been a fan of the Pog sound Jack White gets on the track “I’m Slowly Turning Into You” on Icky Thump by the White Stripes, especially the live rendition.
If you take a look at this clip, it gives a good idea of what I’m after:

Especially the slow part at 3:10
Is it possible to get this kind of sound with a Micro Pog and what settings do you reckon he has?
Sounds like a POG2 with dry on full, lots of both sub octaves and a bit of the first octave up. A microPOG would get you a similar sound, but obviously you’d forfeit the second sub octave. Not a big deal though.
Thanks! I guess that the second sub octave does add a bit to the sound, but in a band with both bass and a keyboard that plays a lot of semi-low parts, it probably would’ve cluttered the sound a bit.
i know jack had a pog, not a pog 2 so no 2nd sub octave. i just gotta say, yes you can get it but dont forget your bmp!
