Hello, I recently purchased a Big Muff OP reissue from Musicians Friend and I am having major issues with the volume knob on the pedal. It seems like whenever I move the volume up and down, it starts to cut out/pop in but doesn’t when I leave it in one position. Could it be a issue with the pots? The box was damaged in the corner but did not damage the actual box of the big muff. Also when I pressed the pedal on, it made a huge POP noise multiple times after I turned the bypass off and on. Even after reading that true bypass pedals hold electricity, after a few times engaging it and disengaging it, it was still making a huge pop noise.
I am playing it through my new Vox ac15 and my Fender strat with lace sensor pick ups. I really wanted to jam on this pedal more but couldn’t deal with faulty volume. I plan on returning the pedal to musicians friend but figured Id ask someone if they ever had a issue with any of the re issue big muffs since I plan on repurchasing it or getting the triangle re issue. I have never had any problems with my former EHX pedals (Small clone, metal muff and my 90’s Russian big muff) so I super bummed, I wonder if I just got a bad egg since I haven’t seen anyone talk about a issue with the Big Muff OP.
No that is not right!
Sorry please return to the store for a replacement.
