Does anyone (perhaps the administrators???) know if there are any real differences between the Big Muff and the Little Big Muff’s circuits? I have watched some of the videos available on the website and there seems to be a bit of a difference in the sound, but would rather spend the extra money for the Big Muff if there is a difference. Thanks!
The circuits are different enough to cause a tonal difference. The basic circuit is the same but with different components.
Like already said.
Same schematic different value components is all.
But yes, they sound way different yet still like a big muff.
I actually done a schematic that shows you where the differences are between the 3003-A NYC muff and the LBM ,the differences are a total of 11 components and different transistor types having different values.
But considering the LBM is a current production pedal i wont give the schem away.
I will give the out of production 3003-A (2000 model no longer made) schem out but not the current2008 3003-C one.
Put it this way, they both sound different enough to warrant owning both!
BTW, this belongs in the help forum.
the only thing I will would add to what’s been said is that some people prefer the sound of the LBM, so I wouldn’t dismiss it without trying both…. or the Big Muff/Tone Wicker for that matter.
Thanks all. The final verdict is for the Big Muff.
