I just got an Iron Lung and I think it’s a pretty cool pedal that works fairly well at what it’s supposed to do. Here’s the problem. I do back-up vocals in my band, so I already have one mic in front of me. I got the Iron Lung along with an additional switch so that I can route the mic through the pedal when I’ve got it on and release the switch to let the signal go from the mic to the PA the rest of the time.
It’s kind a pain. I’d rather have a true bypass XLR output jack on the pedal so that when the pedal is on, there is no XLR output (because the mic is used to do the vocoding effect), but when the pedal’s off, it just lets the XLR mic signal pass through the pedal and out to the PA for vocals.
I think a lot of people would be able to simplify their rig with this little change. Am I the only one, or are there other guitarists out there who want to sing *and* vocod in the same song, toggling quickly on one mic between the two?
Not sure if you are still on here dude. But I faced the same problem and fixed it this way.
