    Electro-Harmonix, a pioneer since 1968 in the field of sound effects for musicians, has produced an app which is a faithful digital re-creation of their circa 1980 analog cult-classic, The MINI-SYNTHESIZER.

    Available for iPad and iPhone (IOS version 8.0 or later), the EHX MINI-SYNTHESIZER accurately delivers all the vintage synth sounds plus modern updates. Android version available October 2016.

    LOL, the ‘Solo Analog Synth’ patch in the demo was all it took to sell me on the app – imagine my surprise to not find it in the presets! It’s OK, the settings are clear in the video, I think I have it right.

    D’loaded the app for iPad (iOS 8.4.1) and it crashes every time I touch a key. So looking forward to using this app. Any help appreciated.

    The ‘Solo Analog Synth’ preset will be available in the first iOS update coming soon in the App Store. Hang in there!

    This is a known issue with iOS 8 and it will be resolved with the first update coming soon in the App Store.

    And my other question would be, how did he do the vibrato?

    He’s using an app called MIDI Guitar 2 by Jam Origin. It converts the audio from your guitar into MIDI note information that the MINI-SYNTHESIZER app reads – it can also pick up on vibrato from the guitar strings.

    My mistake – I was thinking it was a keyboard controller. Feel free to add pitch-wheel modulation to a future version. ;-)

    Thanks for the ‘heads up’

    Out of curiosity, I updated another iPad to iOS 9 yesterday and have been annoying the neighbors ever since. Great app!

    Is the Android download available somewhere? It used to be in the Play Store and I’ve DL’d it before. I got a new tablet and would like to put it on this one.
