although I’d have to disagree with your sentiment
give me a thru-neck with a tune-o-matic any day over a fender
!
I’m not too into guitars that lack a 3rd bridge (so jaguars and jazzies are cool with me)
My two guitars of choice are jaguars and mustangs, I have one of each, a 1966 mustang in daphne blue and a vintage white CIJ jaguar with humbuckers I installed in it.
I’m a BIG fan of third bridges too!!!A collaboration between EHX and Fender would be good, jaguars equiped with some super secret EHX effects or something….

Yeah, I don’t use it often, but I don’t feed right when I don’t have the third bridge to do those cool bends and also get those plinky sounds from time to time.
Jaguar with a built in low pass filter whose cut off frequency is decided by what the highest fret you’re on. That’d be crazy.

Quote:Are “Theremin”s generally regarded as instruments?Hmmm… Maybe. They produce notes, so why not?
+1 for the synth.December 23, 2008 at 5:23 am #89526efe_gallagherMemberMaybe a Fender guitar with some Muff/Preacher built in or some Bass w/Metaphors
+2 SynthDecember 23, 2008 at 4:09 pm #89558TangoMemberI don’t feel like an EHX guitar would be a good idea unless they do something revolutionary with it. Inbuilt effects is nothing new, and (rather needlessly) confines the effect to 1 guitar at a fixed spot in the effect chain.
December 23, 2008 at 4:40 pm #89559McSpunckleMemberI think it would be cool if EHX sold kits, or collaborated with guitar companies for cool electronics in guitars.
Or, perhaps, a guitar that could use the technology in the HOG to change tunings at the touch of a button…
But that might work better as a sample, like the Line 6 Variax, than a built-in effect.
But Theramins, Synts, and whatnot… THAT would be cool.
An alternative to the Mini Moog.
December 24, 2008 at 8:44 pm #89619ChumleyParticipantIf EH were to do a true analog, no frills synth similar to the Moog Rogue, I’d have it in two seconds. They could rip off Korg and have built-in vacuum tubes.
On the subject of synthesizers, a semi-modular effects unit would be amazing. You could plug the EQ into and LFO and a Muff into an Envelope Generator. Something of a similar size to Paia’s modulars. It would be so great…December 27, 2008 at 9:23 pm #89724BlueSteelParticipantAn EHX synth would be a great idea.
