    Hi
I’ve recently acquired an EH pedal thats in need of some repair but i’m struggling to identify exactly what it is.
It looks a bit like a Crying Tone but it only has 3 knobs on it (1 on the left, 2 on the right).
It is currently missing one knob on the right so i need to identify the pedal to get the correct pot so i can see if it works. I also need to work out where the red end of the battery clip connects as it is currently loose.

The only markings i can find are on the PCB which has written in solder:
‘Electro Harmonix 1975’ and ‘DC 375’.

It is quite possible that the previous owner has modified this as there are some resistors and caps on the ‘wrong’ side of the board but until i can work out what this pedal was in the first place i’m a bit stuck.
I’ve attached a couple of photos so hopefully someone might recognize something. Any help identifying this would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks.

Hard to tell from your tiny pics but I believe it’s either a Bad Stone or an Octave Multiplexer.

    Thanks for your response.

Both of those pedals you mentioned normally dont come in this casing – is that correct?
Does this mean that this is a ‘Franken-pedal’?

I’ve published all the photos i have full size here – don’t know if that would give you a better clue.

Should i just get any old pot and wire it up and see what happens? Is there a common one that EH pedals use that is most likely to work – 100K Lin maybe?

I’m intrigued to know what kinda noise this is gonna make!

    Many thanks

No, they made both in treadle versions as well as the standard stompbox configuration. The number of ICs leads me to believe it’s a Bad Stone pedal. It would have 2 controls: a 1M for Rate and a 100k for color (switchable to the treadle pot) and a switch for Bend. The footswitches are for bypass and manual/auto phase. Usually the Bad Stone has a chrome top but I have seen several with the black tops.

    Thanks EH Man!

I’m sure thats the one. – I thought i’d looked at all the pedals with the treddles but i missed that one.

Thanks ever so much for your expertise – gonna find me a switch and give it a good clean up.

I hope you can resurrect it. I have one of those, and it is one of my favorite EHX pedals ever.
