Random tone generator Nano
November 2, 2008 at 11:54 pm #86755CowbellMemberI always thought it would be cool to have all the “muff” tones in one box. Like you could switch from the Russian, to a Triangle, etc…a collection of classic muff’s in one box.
and a tuner. ;]

Yeah, I like the Muff idea. Maybe it should be called the “Muff-box” as in “snuff box” because i’m running low on imagination at the moment
I think BYOC do a muff clone which allows you to switch to allow the tone control to work like different muffs and get the same tonal qualities, even though the characteristics of the distortion remain pretty much the same – as far as i know, that is.

yeah, they don’t really sound that different to me. a little more/less gain, a little difference in tone…….I’m pretty sure the BM/tone wicker will be able to get close to many of the original muff sounds.
November 3, 2008 at 12:18 pm #86763Fender&EHX4everModeratorI completely understand why EHX has reissued their back catalog in the diecast enclosures, but I’m still a huge fan of the oversized bent steel enclosures. I’ve collected most of the old-school pedals, but there are a few that I can’t afford. Those are the ones that I’d like to see reissued, but with modern bonus features:
Attack Decay
Talking Pedal
Queen Triggered WahThis was always one of my favorite threads from the Harmony-Central Effects Forum: http://acapella.harmony-central.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1748026
There are some interesting ideas in there.
The one that I kept harping on is an Electro-Harmonix Cassette Tape Delay/Flanger for experimentalists who want to process tape loops, recycle old cassette tapes, and generally make unpredictable noisy mayhem.

If you guys have the factory space, you should try to keep a few of the big ones around (ie Graphic Fuzz, Frequency Analyzer, Q-Tron, etc) and re-release them periodically like what you recently did with the Hot Tubes. Geeks like me would eat that up…
November 5, 2008 at 6:51 pm #87089Dr. MattModeratorNot sure if this is the appropriate thread to post this but tubezipper reminded me in another thread about the Electro Harmonix drum machine that was available in the past – I know Andy Partridge of XTC has mentioned that he used one for laying down drum tracks at some point (they had no drummer from 1983 onwards, and i must say, a bad time to lose your drummer, with all these cheesey sounding 1980s synths around 😆 ), although i’m not sure if these recordings made it to any commercial recordings.
What happened to that?
November 5, 2008 at 6:54 pm #87091electro-melxModeratorI used to own a DRM16, I bought it off ebay for £20 BIN.
sold it for £100, it was cool but I didn’t have much use for it, if I was rich I would have kept it anyway, but unfortunatly I’m not…..I have to sell gear to buy gear.

November 25, 2008 at 1:32 am #87669julianModeratorI’d love to see the Freedom amp brought back, and maybe even a whole amp line. Heck, EHX already makes the tubes.
Currently in my head:
Germanium Muff
Octave Muff
Noisy muff (sort of like the big muff’s take on a lot of those newer noisy fuzzes that have gates, self-oscillation, voltage sag controls, etc.)November 25, 2008 at 6:11 pm #87701Kevin DemuthMemberi’d quite like to see an update to the Stereo Pulsar, or a ‘Plus’ version… with stereo ins and outs, and the option for stereo tremolo or panning. the fact that the current Stereo Pulsar is always panning is what has stopped me getting one.
but what i’d really like to see would be something along the lines of the Pulse Modulator…
it would be great if it had a Master speed control, with each tremolo ‘channel’ having a control to set it to ‘divisions’ of the Master tempo (ie, 8ths,16ths etc and maybe a control to slightly offset the channel’s timing), depth, waveshape and volume controls. and a master volume.

I think i remember it on the old website, but can’t remember what it was or whether it was solid state or tube.yes there was……it was cute, but I never saw one for sale in a shop, maybe they weren’t available outside of the US?
There was a nice little Sovtek Midget Combo tube amp — but the EHX Freedom Amp wasn’t tube (it’s portable/battery) — in addition to the post with Yngwie and his Freedom Amp (here), there’s another about the Ramones’ first gig at CBGB (here)…
Something like this ? (although it`s 6W…) :
it has built-in a hybrid between a HOT TUBES and a TUBE-ZIPPER (one knob!)
