This guy is good…. The vintage Clone Theory, what a great box. The 70’s and 80’s music scene was dominated by EHX stuff for sure. It’s not all Muff, there are plenty of great products that came out of the EHX Kitchen.

    Thanks FUZZ!

Yes, EHX is all over the New Wave and Indie scenes in the 80s. I wish I could find more references/interviews/pics to prove it. It’s not easy digging this stuff up.

Do you know which George Clinton tracks are famous for using EHX envelope filters?

    Damn FUZZ

    Stop saying EHX Kitchen!!

I get all excited when you say it 😆

Think about… This stuff is prepared and conjured up in a caldron by these tiny little beings that carry a hammer and wrench and climb in every EHX box to tighten up the circuits. It’s like the Keebler Elves here. The best way to make a great sounding FX pedal is with a Hammer and Wrench!

Okay, I just found the most important Iconic Track of this thread (for me at least). “Brass In Pocket” is one of the greatest Rock & Roll pop songs ever written.

I am such a huge fan of the first 2 Pretenders albums, and James Honeyman-Scott was one of my all-time favorite guitarists. His approach to guitar had so much melody, fire, edginess, catchiness, groove, and personality – I can’t say enough.

Yes it does seem obvious. I’ve always cited “Brass In Pocket” as a quintessential song that uses chorus tastefully, but I never knew which pedal it was until today. Now that I know, it’s like

The Clone Theory, Electric Mistress, and Deluxe Memory Man did as much to define the sound of New Wave and Post-Punk as any synthesizer or singer who sang “Woh oh oh oh” in a song.
