Who here mods the EH pedals?
December 2, 2008 at 3:52 pm #87958The EH ManModeratorDepends on what mods you’re asking about.
December 2, 2008 at 3:56 pm #87962boytbpcParticipantI’ve got a version 3 small stone off evil bay. Going to True-bypass it, put in a depth knob, and am thinking about doing the univibe mod to it. I’m looking for a bit more info regarding the univibe mod before I grab the iron though.
December 2, 2008 at 3:58 pm #87963December 2, 2008 at 4:00 pm #87965electro-melxModeratorI did the vibrato mod on mine…very easy to do and sounds pretty neat.
December 2, 2008 at 4:20 pm #87968boytbpcParticipantWow, that mod looks pretty easy. It took me a second to figure out what he was doing with those fuzzy pics, but I got. (Darn visual learner).
December 3, 2008 at 1:05 am #88142Ned FlandersModeratorI done the vibrato mod, didn’t like it much so i removed it. Its not a very intense vibrato, not like the lofi loop junky. The univibe mod sounds cool though.

It’s one of the easiest muff mods to do.
“Emitter mod: The 2 gain stages of the Muff are tied to the groud by emitter resistors (R12 & R16). These are 390 ohms in Russian models and 100 ohms in NYC models (exact value can differ between models). Jumpering these resistors (replace resistors with a wire) will increase “gainy-ness” of the unit, enlarging em will reduce the “gainy-ness” of the unit. A potmeter can be used to control this value although I noticed I usually used only one setting.”

Install that with a 2p2t and have the best of both worlds.

You guys and your insane gain desires, as if the Big Muff Pi needs more gain. C’mon, no matter how much Viagra you pump yourself with, your size still has a limit :poke:

good point. it doesn’t sound like a lot of gain to me. actually it sounds a little smoother. that’s why I do it.
