I just received my Holy Grail “Classic” today. I compared the “spring” setting on the HG to the spring reverb in my new Fender 65 Deluxe reverb. OMG, I think I like the spring setting on the HG better. I also plan to experiment with a hyper-concentrated and complex reverb using both. The Hall setting is dripping wet and cavernous… exactly as I like it. And Flerb, what were reviewers thinking when they said they don’t care for it? Purists I guess? Others try to emulate but none can duplicate… Flerb is in a class all its’ own and I really dig it! The HG works great with everything I throw at it and is dead quiet. This pedal couldn’t possibly wear a more appropriate moniker.
BTW – “Flerb” and “reverb” are not in this webs spelling database. I think I spelled those correctly? LOL

April 10, 2009 at 11:26 pm #95544SnufkinoMemberI’m not so keen on it. I prefered the Modulation setting on the Boss RV-5, which is more of a subtle chorus than full-on flange, though each to there own. And it is pure EHX
April 10, 2009 at 11:41 pm #95545StratoholicMemberI can see your point. I had a Digitech RV-7 reverb and sold it. It had a modulation reverb and some other bizzare modes. I espically like the modulation on the Flerb tail as it reminds me of the sound of a gunshot ricoshet.

Eventually I plan to incorporate that into a song.

Flerb with eBow allows for some great B-movie Sci-Fi sounds. I’d love to hear the flerb on a theremin
April 13, 2009 at 6:54 am #95592John JMemberI’m with you in the “Why don’t you love Flerb” camp (T-shirts pending).
It’s great, set the reverb to a modest level and it’s the lushest sound around. Crank the blend to about 2 o’clock and it’s a flanger AND thick reverb in one compact box, throw some dirt in the mix and let things get a little crazy – I had two distortions full gain/volume, a Boss DD-6 and a Hazarai delay going insane plus amp reverb and heavy tremolo and the other guitarist in my band made me look tame with just a Boss ODB-3 and the Flerb setting. I’m still not 100% sure how he got all of the sounds, but he had the ODB driving the amp so the Holy Grail had distortion both before and after. After that, it’s a mystery.
April 14, 2009 at 11:12 pm #95660StratoholicMemberI like “GOT FLERB” or “DID YOU FLERB TODAY?”
April 15, 2009 at 8:39 pm #95713RayjaysonicMemberI got my Holy Grail + today. Flerb rocks. I love it.

April 27, 2009 at 10:47 am #96097nfnbandMemberEveryone on here is correct. Flerb is amazing. I got mine a few weeks back and have incorporated it into my live sound and will be using it for my bands next recording sessions.
