I’ve lost my Holy Grail Plus power supply and have no idea where to get a new one – any ideas folks?
Also, I’ve got a power supply with a daisy-chain cable that can run quite a lot of pedals at once – with the standard 9v (center neg) boss type connection – would this work? I know that EHX say only use the proper 9.6v supply etc..
Thanks all,
Leo
February 22, 2009 at 4:31 pm #93802julianModeratorYou can use a normal 9v supply on the Holy Grail +. But I wouldn’t daisy chain it. The Holy Grail +, SMMH, and other digital 9.6V pedals of EHX’s don’t like to be daisy chained and can create a high pitched whining noise in your signal.

In that case, is there anywhere I can get a decent 9.v that is dedicated (one output) + decent quality?
I guess I could try it out daisy chained and see if it whines or not – I’m not likely to damage the pedal am I?

there are plenty of places to get dedicated 9V adapters. Musician’s Friend, Analogman, Tone Factor, Pro Guitar Shop, etc. should all have it.
May 6, 2009 at 6:28 am #96413a_d_s_rParticipantI have a Voodoo Lab PP2+, but have both 250mA AC outs in-use by a DD-20 and an EHX Micro Pog… Is it possible to use one of the standard 100mA Boss-type outs on the PP2+ to power the Holy Grail +???
Or, can I use one of the PP2+’s 250mA outs and daisy-chain the Micro Pog and HG+ together?
Any help would be great…

The Holy Grail needs 220mA & will not work with the 100mA outputs (only the
PP2+ 5 & 6 outputs).I would not daisy chain it with any other pedal.
Also, my Boss Space Echo (RE-20) actually only needs 75mA to run.
I’m not sure about the DD-20 but it probably doesn’t need as much
as Boss says it does.February 14, 2010 at 2:14 am #107485finjamMemberQuote:You can use a normal 9v supply on the Holy Grail +. But I wouldn’t daisy chain it. I have this exact issue with the whine using a OneSpot and came on here to try and find a solution.
At the time (more than a year ago) I had put the HGP on it’s own power supply. Unfortunately after experiencing random volume loss I was told that I had a phase issue stemming from the HGP being on another supply.
Disappointed that this pedal has this silly whine when used on a pretty standard pedalboard setup with the onespot. Will probably get rid of it, unless you kind folks have any advice.
Thanks
