Hi All,
I bought a Holy Grail on ebay from the US and it came with an American power supply 9DC-500. I bought a socket convertor here in Aus and plugged in my pedal but the power supply blew after just a minute, smoke everywhere the works. Just wondering if anyone has bought this pedal from the States and used it in Australia? I rang up an authorised Aussie dealer and was told the power specs on the US pedal make it unusable in Australia? Is this the case? Any info would really be appreciated!
Cheers!

You need an AC adapter for 220-240v (to 9V DC/500 mA), but read the instructions here:
https://www.ehx.com/products/holy-grail/instructionsWhen you buy/use adaptors, always look at:
1. Voltage (input & output)
2. Polarity of the output plug (even with the same power socket they could be different)
3. Current (mA) (usually not a problem if 1 & 2 are correct)March 27, 2009 at 8:39 am #94971bluesdog88ParticipantHey guys, i just bought a holy grail plus, save heaps buying off ebay(not so much now with the currency rates down), I have had less than pleasant experiences trying to get power supplies for US pedals, and when aussie retailers charge what they do is it any wonder people do this.Sorry off topic.
I have a Jim Dunlop DC Brick, can i safely use this?from Jim Dunlop website:
Quote:Check the voltage and milliamp (mA) requirement of each pedal or
stomp box to be plugged in. The DC Brick supports 9V power up to 375mA
total through the front 7 jacks. It also supports 18V power up to 625mA
through the 3 jacks on the right side. All outputs can be used simultaneously
for a total power output of 1000mA…well beyond what is needed for
most applications.I’m not great with techno babble, just dont want to destroy my $300 pedal.
Cheers

PS: I cant find any information on your website at all about international resellers, can I buy a Holy grail plus from you guys directly if the dc brick is unsafe?

Is this how electro harmonix supplies their australian customers?

April 3, 2009 at 10:40 pm #95221Ned FlandersModeratorIf you buy EH pedals in Australia they come with the right adapter. I buy all my effects from the US and then I buy UK adapters which are the same voltage as Australian ones and then I find locally a socket adapter for it. Unless I can find the right Australian adapter here of course. Alot of EH effects will take the standard Boss adapters but the 24v effects wont obviously.
buyanalogman.com sells UK EH adapters.May 9, 2009 at 1:01 pm #96529bluesdog88ParticipantWell I have had a power supply(for AUS voltages) on order for 4 weeks fom Billy Hydes, I purchased the unit brand new off ebay(do i need to explain i saved $120 even with an extra power supply(UK version with voltage adapter)and postage, who in their right mind would buy a product at $360 AUS when they can purchase the same unit for $160 less. Billy Hydes want proof of purchase lol, anyone know of a voltage adapter that will work with this unit?

I have 4 EHX pedals like that and I’ve never had that issue.
November 6, 2014 at 11:39 pm #120358jugheadMemberHi guys,
I thought I’d bump this existing topic rather than start my own.
I’m a bit of an amateur, not great w/ the technical side of things, and recently purchased an Electro Harmonix Holy Grail Plus from a U.S. dealer off ebay.
I’m obviously having a similar issue w/ the power supply.
Would anyone be able to advise me on what I need to purchase to get it up and running?
ThanksNovember 6, 2014 at 11:50 pm #120359bluesdog88ParticipantDude I Went To Jaycar and they hooked me up, are you near one?
November 6, 2014 at 11:59 pm #120360jugheadMemberCheers for the reply bluesdog,
Yeah it looks like there’s one in sydney cbd.
What is it exactly I’m after? An AU 9.6V power adapter? Do they exist or do I need to purchase a UK one and grab a converter? I’m in way over my head.November 7, 2014 at 12:06 am #120361bluesdog88ParticipantThey Gave Me An NR switching adapter, it has the UK style plug so you need a little adapter.

This seems to match as well
