really nice if your amp doesn’t have reverb – or a crap sounding one.
goes very deep.
uses a lot of juice though.
the flerb setting is a bit useless though.

It needs the juice for the magic is exudes. The Flurb is the best part. Play around with it, you’ll find something cool about it.
December 2, 2008 at 5:12 pm #87982chisaParticipantthe flerb seems to be some kind of ring mod addition set to Bb, crazy noises but i dunno if i could ever use it practically

and full depth is at 2 o’clock!!!
….I guess you either love things like that or you don’t…..if you don’t you might as well buy another brand because you rarely get ‘normal’ and ‘sensible’ with ehx.
it’s the uniqueness that appeals to me. :metal:

I’d really like to have a play with one of these but I don’t really use a lot of reverb, just a smidge on the amp.

Take the Holy Grail and put it before or after the DMM. Push the Flerb and get some spaced out effect. You can really drive it witht the right fuzz to. Flerb should not be feard, it should be embraced….

How do these people get these jobs? haha

ehx are damn clever fitting those huge springs inside a little box.
December 3, 2008 at 4:29 pm #88221FUZZ (EHX Staff)MemberThe Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail uses 6 springs that are 14 feet in length. They are wrapped up in a ball inside that box. The only thing controlling it is that one knob. The AC power adapter heats the coils of the springs to produce a heat generated reverb that rises to the top of your playing. This allows the sound to cascade in a reverb type setting. It’s really genius how they do it. The Holy Grail allows the sound to linger longer than the odor in your shoes.
December 3, 2008 at 4:32 pm #88222jgs61MemberI should have asked the GC guy to explain how the hall reverb works in the HG+. haha

Thank God for Wikipedia or I would have been lost. Yes, it’s a TARDIS. haha
December 3, 2008 at 4:53 pm #88242Fender&EHX4everModeratorI love to use the flerb in combination with stereo delay and an eBow. I have a soundclip, but unfortunately I can’t access Soundclick from within the firewall at work right now :worried:
It creates this very 60s SciFi B-movie theremin-like effect, which is great for psychedlia, experimental, ambient, electronica, etc.
