So I accidentally plugged in the wrong power supply for the Holier Grail. On top of that, I didn’t realize it until I went to turn it on – at least a good 10 minutes after I plugged it in. Now the pedal won’t turn on. Has anyone else had experience with this?
Anyways, I believe I fried the first resistor, R1. There is discoloring on the circuit board around the resistor and, more importantly, I cannot detect any current getting through the resistor with my multimeter.
First question, can anyone help me figure out the value of this resistor? There is writing on it but it is unreadable now.
Second question, does anyone know where to get that type of tiny, flat resistor?
it’s a smd resistor. it’s kind of difficult to replace it, since it’s a very little component, but you could use a regular resistor.
It’s a 4.7 ohm, 1/2w resistor.
Thanks guys. I would prefer to replace it with an identical smd (thanks for the tip on the name), but I will probably just replace with the classic kind of resistor.
I did the same thing yesterday. Was hoping that I only fried one component, seems so, went online and found this short but perfectly sweet thread. Thanks!
