Home › Forums › Help/Technical Questions › HOG or POG into Deluxe Memory Boy’s loop = tempo becomes slower!
Hey guys,
Everything is pretty much in the title: the repeats are regular, but at a slower tempo. Quite strange. Does that happen to anyone else? I’ve searched the forums and the web but haven’t found anything addressing this issue. It’s really annoying since it makes using this setup basically impossible in more constructed playing.
Thanks!
I realize it sounds obvious, but I should mention this only happens on the pitch-shifted signals, my bad!
the issue with using a pitch shifter in the loop is that all pitch shifters have some latency. it’s only a few milliseconds, but when you’re trying to play something in rhythm it becomes noticeable. try mixing in a little bit of dry signal and it should make it not as noticeable
I figured it’d be some sort of latency coming from the units, but still had some desperate hope, I guess. Actually, and unfortunately, putting dry signal in the mix just makes it messier.
Thanks for the input!
You know, I tried placing my Boss OC-3 in the loop, and I didn’t have this problem. I WISH I had a mini POG to try…don’t know if this helps or not.
Are you using the SubOctave or the +1 Octave setting on those? If you’re using the SubOctave then maybe it’s just that the bass is harder to hear and you percieve it as “Slow”. Happened to me at first with my Analog Delay since the repeats were darker and “heavier”. Hope this helps in a way. :thumb:
Hey, thanks for the additional input.
I went into a guitar store and tried another DMB, same thing happened, as expected.
Also, it definitely happens with +1 octave and above too!
