Let me start by saying the EXH products are great. I just purchased a used HOG and I do not believe the input gain slider works as it should. From range 0-5 there is no change or increase in volume. The output signal volume matches close to, but slightly less than the bypass signal volume throughout the 0-5 slider values. Values increasing from 5-10 thicken the sound a touch, still without any volume increase. Clipping occurs without any volume increase from ranges 8-10. When I slide the position quickly 0-10 you can hear the pedal try to increase/decrease its output momentarily but it is quickly squashed and output remains close to bypass levels.
Anyone have a similiar experience? Any thoughts as to the issue? Does EXH provide repair service?

ThanksIt sounds like the INPUT GAIN slider is working normally. As you push the slider upwards, the INPUT GAIN before the ADC increases while simultaneously decreasing the output level. The idea is to have unit gain all along the INPUT GAIN slider’s travel.

from the manual…”INPUT GAIN Slider — Simultaneously controls the level of the input signal before entering the A/D Converter and the level of the output signal after the D/A Converter so that Input and Output are always at the same level. The gain before the A/D Converter increases as the slider is pushed upward. The INPUT GAIN Slider is an analog control and is not saved with the Foot Controller Presets. Ideally, you want to set the INPUT GAIN slider so that you have maximum signal level at the A/D Converter but does not clip the A/D.”
I see now, at first the operation did not make sense to me reading the instruction. I previously had a HOG2 which worked differently. Good to know there is no issue with this unit.
