How long were these things in production? I see there’s one on ebay stating that it’s vintage and another that’s the same not selling for much. Did they just make these thing for close to 30 years or something without changing them? The one I have looks practically brand new!
The vintage unit was first made around 1978 and was in production until EH closed in 1984 or so. The reissue came along around 2000 and looked identical to the vintage unit except for a 3-prong AC cord that was eventually changed to a wall wart.
Thanks for the reply. Does anyone know if the led on this newer units are supposed to stay lit even when bypassed? Mine stays on even when the pedal is off….
Vintage and early reissues used the LED for power. I believe later reissues might’ve had them wired for bypass indication. If not, it’s easily done.
