Hi fellow EHX users,
My name is Andreas, I write music for cinema, theatre, tv and contemporary dance companies for a living and I also play guitar in a band.
My EHX pedals at the moment include the Hog, Stereo Electric Mistress, Little Big Muff, Russian Big Muff and Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai. Soon to add a Soul Preacher and a Worm. I just love EHX effects for their quirkiness and off the beaten track design, as many effects nowdays seem to be designed to give you a mainstream commercial sound outright, wether you want it or not. The Hog is a fantastic pedal – my band is a trio with vocals, drums and guitar and it allows me to play bass and organ parts plus harmonies and sound effects, the responsiveness is unbelievable – I sometimes just forget its there.
I’ve also used it very effectively in a couple of soundtracks, combining it with other effects such as the filters from a synthi aks – as I am primarily a guitarist it feels good to do synth parts using my main instrument rather than a keyboard.
