Home › Forums › Help/Technical Questions › Help ! Voice Box is off key with my piano/synth
Yesterday i received my Voice Box.. Waited for a while, so i was really happy to recieve it.
Now i’ve been working with it for 2 days… When i put my acoustic guitar in it and i sing, the harmonies are great.
But…. most of the time i play the piano.. now when i hook my piano (or synth) to the voice box… the harmonies are often off key.. do you know how that is possible? I have seen a girl on youtube doing a great song with the voice box…. My intention was to sing backing with the piano and my voice box when i’m playing with a duo.. Do you have a solution??
The vocoder sounds great with my synth… gonna use that one with my band.
Greetz,

I kinda solved the problem… it was that i played too big chords. To use the voice box i needed to adjust my playing the piano… i did that by:
-Turning of all reverb on the piano
-playing the piano like a guitar: easy on the sustain.. no notes from the previous chord must come to the new chord
-at first don’t play to low notes on the piano, so the voicebox first can make its harmony, then i can add the low notes..
On my guitar the voice box works perfectly and on my synth the vocoder kicks ass !!! Like playing funky town from Lips to playing a solo with a great soundeffect !!!
Really i love my voice box… i’m using it every day !!!!
Good for you that you solved your own prob all by yourself..LOL! Thanks for the info though..
