Home › Forums › Help/Technical Questions › Help: Micro Synth Signal Cutting Out
First off, Hello Ehx! Much respect to all who frequent. True seekers!
I just bought a Micro Synth pedal and we had a wonderful time together for about two weeks. I never played it live and barely moved the thing since I bought it.
Suddenly the other day it started coughing. The bypass signal works perfectly. but when the footswitch is hit the signal cuts. It promptly returns when I lightly tap the casing with my hand. but i can’ afford to lose confidence in my gear.
The real bummer is that I was trying to sell it when this all went down. I love the pedal but my live set up needs polyphony at all times since its usually just me. the sales money would have been recylced immediately to a hog
I would really appreciate the wisdom. I’m a klutz when it comes to the anatomy of circuits but I’m a quick learner.
Thanks so much!
That’s the classic symptom of a bad solder joint. Hook the pedal up then take the back off and tap around on the circuit board w/ a Sharpie or stick till it cuts out (or back in). You can narrow down the area gradually and find the bad connection.
thanks so much. i’ll be checking that soon!
