Hi – I did a bad thing – I dropped my Big Muff Pi (NYC) while holding onto the battery, so the battery snap and wires ripped right out. Can anyone post a photo to show where the wires (red & black) should be attached. I think the black one goes onto one of the contacts on the input jack, no idea with the red – Help please-gigging tomorrow !! AAArrrghh!!

The black goes to the input jack. The red goes to the Ac adapter jack. Look for the lugs with solder on them but no wires.

Get another 9v connector and try it. You may have pulled wires loose inside the connector.

No, The connector’s fine – this is what it looks like now – I’ve reattached the red & black wires (circled) which I think is correct, but I’m still getting no power, and no signal. Anybody got any ideas? Also, does anybody else find it weird that there is nowhere in Dublin to go for pedal repairs? *tears out hair*

The only other thing I can think of is you’ve damaged your AC adapter jack. Remove the battery red wire and connect it to the other red wire on the AC jack. If it’s the jack, the pedal should work now.

I tried that too, but same result – I don’t use an AC adaptor into the rear jack, I use a battery snap-type connector that goes straight from my power supply to the battery snap of the pedal. I’ve tried the pedal with a new battery, still nothing. i dont get it – it was working 3 minutes earlier, I’ve connected the wires as they were, I havnt changed anything lse. How annoying !!

You’re going to have to take it to a tech.

Got it !! I’m such a dope. I took another look at the adaptor jack after your post – look at the picture for a laugh – when I was soldering the red wire back on, I wasn’t paying attention, and I’ve MELTED the jack socket, so the contacts were “stuck” together. I’ve had to cut little shavins of plastic out to free it up, but it’s working again ! – Hey, thanks a million for all your help !!

The important thing is, you’ve got it working again!
