Just picked up a Golden Throat and Bad Stone(3 knob version) for $80. Both items were in the original boxes and in great shape(couple of minor scratches). The bad stone looked as thought it had the original battery still in it. Both items work great!
You posted that you got a Golden Throat, I picked one up yesterday, but I am unsure how to hook it up. This is the Original GT, It has 2 phono jacks, one labeled amp, and one labeled speaker, a light bulb and a hose and a switch. I have been told a couple of ways to hook it up and am now confused. I don’t want to blow up my amp.
One person said to plug the guitar into the box and use it inline like a regular pedal. Another says, put the unit between the amp head and the speaker cabinet which sounds like it might be the correct way. Of all of the vintage pedals on this site, The Golden Throat(first model) has no PDF or schematics or hookup instructions that I could find. Rocky Mtn. Way and Mindbender rehersal will have to wait for now…Please HELP.
Thanks in advance,
Peace…Neilcody (Slow-cala,Fl)
If you do a search on this site you will find a link in a previous post that links to a web page that has instructions. But it is really quite simple. Guitar goes to amp, amp goes to GT, GT goes to speakers. I don’t think it will do anything if hooked up like a typical peddle.
