I recently bought a golden throat 2 on Ebay and it arrived with a broken #1073 lamp. How do I buy a new replacement bulb, would the #47 bulb (https://shop.ehx.com/item/#47 bulb/parts-jewels-pilot-lights-47-bulbs/) on the online store work? The webpage says its only for fender amps. The unit gets power and I can hear the signal coming through the speaker jack but no signal is coming out of the driver where you hook the tube up.

You should be able to get one at an automotive store or ebay.

If you ask for a 1073 they’ll know what you mean.

Excuse my ignorance, could you explain how i hook it up I cant get any sound to come out of the driver where the tube goes. I hooked up the out of my audio interface generating a sawtooth signal to the amp in of the talkbox but no sound is coming out the tube. I hear just the sawtooth signal coming out the speaker out when i plug it up to a speaker but no sound comes out the tube. I tried to figure out how to set the talkbox up but there are very few instructions online for the golden throat 2

You need the bulb in there to make it work. It’s in line with the speaker.

Hey I just replaced the bulb and now there is a small amount of sound coming out of the driver for tube. I was going to get a tube tomorrow, is the sound coming out of the driver supposed to be sort of quiet and how do I go about recording the talkbox once I get tube? I use the audio out of an audio interface to generate a saw wave and the out of the interface is plugged into the amplifier part of the talk box. I have a mic and I was wondering the sound coming out of the tube is loud enough to record talkbox parts into the mic.

Once you get it up to a mic it should be plenty loud enough.

Ok so I dont need anything plugged into the speaker out of the golden throat 2 because I’m trying to record the sound of the talkbox with a mic and not perform live? Do i need an amplifier between the audio interface and amplifier in of the golden throat to make the saw tooth signal louder or is it just fine with the out of the interface plugged into the talkbox amplifier in?

You shouldn’t need a speaker if you’re just recording. You should drive it with a speaker level signal for best results.
