Hi…i just bought a germanium od….i noticed that when i move the bias and volts knobs while playing ,the sound interrupts….is it normal or….a faulty device??i have also to mention that i run thru it a line level signal and not a gutiar..(hiZ)…i’m looking forward for your answers…thanks..!!
anyone??
No need to bump it on the same day. Someone with some experience with the GeOD will be in here soon enough
Do you mean, when you have the bias and volts set far apart, there is no sound? If so, yes, that is normal.
If you mean, while actually turning the knob, the sound cuts out? I dunno if mine does this. I will check in a little bit.
what do you mean”set far apart”?
i have the problem when there is still sound and try to move any of these 2 knobs..is it normal??
Say the bias is at 9 o’clock and the volts knob is at 4 o’clock.
Give me a few minutes. I’ll go hook my GeOD up to my computer room board.
Here is how mine is.
Volts, 9 o’clock
Bias, 9 o’clock
I’ll strum and hold a chord.
I’ll turn the Bias knob clockwise.
When the Bias knob is at around 11 o’clock, the sound cuts out.
Counter clockwise and once I go past 11 o’clock, signal comes back.
Same thing when it is like so,
Volts, 12 o’clock
Bias, 12 o’clock
Turn the Bias knob clockwise
Around 4 o’clock, the sound cuts out.
Counter clockwise and past 4 and the signal comes back
Is this what you are experiencing?
If so, this is normal. One of the pedal building gurus can tell you why.

You are welcome.
