On the Ocean’s 11 Pedal…what the heck is gate and duck used for? I’m still trying to use them properly, and can’t quite see when they would come in handy. And what kind of musical situations would require them…?
I used gate in the video demo. Very cool sound.
Its startling to hear a big reverb and have it gone in an instant.
Duck is used to keep the reverb down while you play so the focus is on the guitar and not the reverb. when you stop or hold the reverb come in.
its used a lot with vocals in the studio. Keeps the reverb from getting in the way of the vocal.
