someone should make a preset synth like the arp pro soloist or the roland sh2000. since ehx has dabbled with the mini synthesizer and already recreated funky pedals like the q tron it would make sense. both keyboards mentioned above go for over $1000 on ebay and probably are tough to have serviced. the technology is over thirty years old so research and development shouldnt be too costly. arp is not even around anymore and maybe the patents would be easy to obtain (i dont know anything about patents). it would be great to see a funky old school synth like that back on the market for less than $1000. just look at the success of the moog little phatty. check out the audio samples at bluesynths.com or even youtube. pure funk. i cant see this idea failing if it is done properly.
would it work if you added a keyboard to the microsynth and put in some presets? the sh1000 looks like a keyboard with an ehx pedal slapped on. im sure its not that simple but it would be pretty cool.
if this does not sound like something worth doing then maybe just bring back the mini synth. this time it could be more like the edp wasp deluxe with a real keyboard. i saw one on ebay today going for almost $4000. insane.
