Hi,
I own a Frequency Analyzer similar to as shown in this stock image
Mines a lot more beat up after years of use.
Just come back from playing a show and doing some travelling and the bottom ‘Shift’ nob is wobbly. When I ran my synth through the effect the bottom nob does not respond and the top ‘Blend’ nob seems to act as a volume control now.
Would a fix for this just be simply opening her up and re-soldiering the loose pot?
I know you can take the back off but how do I remove the circuit board to access under the pots?
If anyone could help please let me know.
Thanks
BBB

If you’re lucky, this is all you’ll need to do. It’s also possible that one of 2 things has occurred:
1) The pads the pots solder to are broken loose from the board. In this case, a short wire from the pot lead to the next pad on the trace will suffice.
2) The pot has not broken loose from the board but has actually come apart, usually from being smacked or stomped. In this case, take the board out, reassemble the pots, put the board back in, re-solder the pot connections on the board for good measure, and you’re done.
Take a look and if you have any questions/problems, post again w/ pics if needed.
Thanks, I’m going to attempt to look at it a lot more closely tomorrow and then post back.
Ok, so I opened it up and couldn’t work out how to remove the nobs on the top.
I’m pretty sure it’s a wire come loose but I’m too afraid to yank off the pots on top. Is there a technique to doing this?
