So, mid song in front of 500 people, the factory included power supply for the Freeze pedal stops working. It took me a bit to figure out what was going on (kept unplugging cables, checking if amp blew), but then i noticed that the light on the Freeze wasn’t on. Just for the sake of getting through the set, I took the Freeze out of the chain and moved on. I plugged it in again today and nothing. Tried the problem PS with a few other pedals requiring the same voltage and no dice.
Anyone else have this problem? It’s kinda annoying that the Freeze doesn’t seem to like to be powered with Voodoo Labs supplies or One Spots (I’ve read problems from other users on this forum) and you have to use its own walwart. But it’s really annoying that this power supply completely fails at an important gig.
Lastly, are these covered in the warranty? I bought mine from ProGuitarShop.com on 10/6/10 but never sent in the warranty card.
Any help would be appreciated!

i just today reconfigured my freeze to slot 5 on the voodoo lab for the 200ma. havent had any problems with it.
As long as the supply can put out 140mA you’re good to go.
Contact EHX customer service at the page in my sig for your power supply issue.
Excellent customer service. Had a replacement PS within a week of contact. Thanks!
Hey, I got a used Freeze with no power supply. I was using 9v from a power block and doing OK until I tried putting it on a daisy chain cable, then got the notorious whine all through my chain.
I found a spare power supply that said on the label that it put out 9v with 200ma, so I chose that one, but I’ve put it on my VOM, and it looks like it’s putting out 15 volts.
I tried the Freeze on it, and it works. I just wonder if I should use it like that, or if I need to sag that power supply back down to 10v or 9.6v or something. I do have a little sag box that I could put in there, but if it’s OK with 15v, that would be fewer accessories to be involved.
I guess if I have a question, it is to find out what the MAXIMUM voltage for a Freeze pedal is.
It’s likely that power supply isn’t regulated and drops to 9v when it has a load. I’d recommend buying a quality replacement or an original to be safe.
Great, thanks Ron!
