    well, speaking only for myself… I think the forum just doesn’t really need it… Harmony Cenntral FX is basically people buying/selling/trading or talking about what they are buying/selling/trading. …. It’s just glorified ‘deals’ forum really…. well, that’s what I feel it has become. Every other thread is ‘look what I have’ or ‘this is what I want’ or ‘which should I buy’ or ‘should I sell this’ ….

    … hopefully this forum has a slightly different ‘vibe’ from that.. a place where we can learn, get help, discuss things and enjoy and talk about the pedals/guitars/amps we already have without being made to feel like an ‘outsider’ because you don’t own a board full of the latest $400 pedals ….. somewhere online to get away from all the commerce if you like. …

    ok, thanks for the frank response

    i have to say i don’t have any experience with the H-C forum… this is the second forum of my life, on the first one (our czech music forum… one of the biggest) i’m one of moderators with almost 8000 posts (ive been there for i think… well three and a half years) and to be honest the relax forum for me is the EHX forum because… um… people here have some brains, experience and they are really nice :love:

    on your forum it’s the same old questions all over again… and it’s the total opposite to the H-C as i can see… it’s still “what guitar should i buy, i play metal and it has to be super-cheap because that’s just the way it is” again and again… and alot of people is really feisty… and the experienced musicians either help (not a lot of them, trust me), don’t write (most of them) or they just mock people or they show off

    so i think i get you with your relaxing idea… yep, you’re right, melx :)

    there were other issues and views both ‘for’ and ‘against’ but in the end we just figured it would be easier to atleast start the forums without a ‘for sale’ section…. it was kind of left open to see what would happen and let the forum ‘settle in’ before thinking about it again, now on reflection I don’t think it’s a bad thing.

    …… also remember than volunteer admin don’t have any real contact with staff at EHX and this kind of thing isn’t something we could make a decision on without the full support of EHX, the way I see it now is if they wanted it they would contact us (admin) to see about implementing it and that hasn’t happened, so I presume they want to keep things the way they are.

    I am in full agreement with the “no trades” policy. It helps the forum be what it is, which for me is pretty stimulating.

    There are already deals on EHX vintage gear just about everywhere a musician can look and the best way to control prices is to refuse to buy overpriced equipment. Believe me, the prices will adjust extremely quickly.

    Towards the end of last year I was offered a vintage Muff Fuzz Crying Tone for 1,200 USD! I just laughed. I am pretty sure that “sales person” is still sitting on the precious object counting imaginary riches.

    a classified section restricted to only ehx would be great. i know fenderehx4ever already has every ehx product made, but it would give us other guys a chance at some of the unobtanium.
