Hi all! New to the forum and I have a question and hope I can get some help.
I have a H.O.G. unit. Two of the three footswitches just stopped working. So bought some Fulltone 3PDT switches for it. These are the 9 pin or solder lugs switches. When I soldered on the Fulltone switches the H.O.G. would not operate properly.
I contacted EHX and was told the Fulltone switches are more than likely latch switches and I need momentary switches for the H.O.G. I’m pretty good with guitar electronics but I’ve never messed with an effects pedal before and didn’t even know there were different kinds of footswitches.
Now, my question is what kind of footswitches do I need for the H.O.G.? When I searched parts sites for footswitches I found momentary switches but there were “on/off” and “on/on” momentary switches as well as “normally open” and “normally closed” momentary switches. Which ones are the correct ones?
Thanks!
Most likely they’re “normally open” momentary switches.
I’ll open up my HOG and give a check, but I believe EH man is right.
Tested with my multimeter. He’s right.
You need these: http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok?no=27 The middle lug is connected to the right lug (when viewed as wired into the HOG) when the switch isn’t pressed down, and connected to the left when it is.
these may also work: http://cgi.ebay.com/3-SPDT-Momentary-ON-OFF-Effect-Stomp-Foot-Switch-112P-/120557588203?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item1c11caceeb
