I was taking my Big Muff Pi With Tone Wicker out of my guitar bag and I dropped it. It couldn’t have fallen more than a foot but as I was setting up I noticed that the footswitch was loose, no longer giving the little ‘click’ when pressed. When I plugged everything in, sure enough it didn’t work. I opened up the back of the pedal to see if i could fix the switch back into place but couldnt figure out how. Could somebody give me some advice on how to repair this, as it doesn’t seem like a major repair job, or should I just take it to a tech instead?
Thanks
If you can solder/desolder then just replace the footswitch.
haven’t really done anything like that before so i wouldn’t like to attempt, but i wouldn’t have thought that was even necessary, it just looks as if a certain part needs to be clicked back into place? when i opened it up i noticed that there is a part inside of the switch that looks something like a needle and a spring over the top of it. does the needle need to sit in a particular place?
I would just play it safe and replace it.
this. a fix of a busted mechanical part will probably only be temporary until it breaks again.
what a joke, i only bought the thing about a week ago! i had an ordinary big muff pi (the huge one) for like 3 years and it took a serious beating and nothing ever broke. not impressed.
S**t happens……….
