I am the proud owner of a brand new Flanger Hoax, after a short rigamarole.

I purchased a used Flanger Hoax first and it was ridiculously noisy, with most settings emitting an extremely loud hissing white noise. I have a stack of EHX gear and I have never encountered this before. Luckily, I was able to return the used one.

I decided that I would give a new Flanger Hoax a try and the problem was solved. It is dead quiet. It sounds incredible.

I don’t know if the first batch of pedals weren’t calibrated correctly or if used ones have something that goes bad. Were these recalled at any point?

Alas, my advice is, the Flanger Hoax is a GREAT pedal, but do yourself a favor and buy a Flanger Hoax new vs. used.
