The obvious controls would be Notch, Resonance, and Blend. Perhaps an 0.5 ms to 20 ms range on the delay, allowing you to get slapback sounds? Perhaps they could throw in a bandpass filter in the feedback loop, to give more tone control. An exp input for either the BP frequency or delay time would be excellent.

From there you can find many variations, but the most important think is to set delay and modulation mode to DC.

THANK YOUUUUUU!!!!!! Man, I have dreamt of an electro harmonix pedal dedicated to the filter matrix (frozen comb filter) since a year ago, when I first bought my own deluxe mistress. This, in my opinion, is a great idea that could help tons of musicians looking for a way to modify their straight tone. I know many of you deluxe and stereo mistress users out there think of it kinda as a quirky little idea to play with for fun, but I see the filter matrix as a wonderful way to animate a guitar’s signal. If Electro-Harmonix were to create such a pedal (preferably analog), I’d likely trip over my own feet racing to my local guitar shop to order it. THANKS GUYS!!! It’s so freakin’ awesome to know other people share my dream!
Rock n’ roll till the end!!!

Though through the release of a pedal such as the Iron Lung, I see no big difference in releasing a pedal dedicated to the Filter Matrix. It would be in a Nano enclosure too, of course. However, maybe the Iron Lung will have more followers than a Filter Matrix pedal.

Yeah, but they would have different purposes, right? Even thought, I dont get that “same level” – What do you mean?

November 11, 2009 at 12:42 am #103619vulturepianoMemberyeah, definitely. i meant that i feel a filter matrix pedal would be of the same caliber as the iron lung. i feel as though each one is/would be as worthy as the other.
