A pedal dedicated completely to the filter matrix of the electric mistress, more along the lines of the deluxe, would be great. I seem to use the filter matrix on my dem much more than the rather. However, I don’t know what the features would be. But it still seems like a cool idea. If anyone has already suggested this idea, my bad.

October 15, 2009 at 6:17 am #102259vulturepianoMemberwell, it can make your guitar sound quite metallic, if that makes sense. it’s useful to me as i use it very often in the music that i write. i think any sound can be useful to someone. but regardless of whether i run keys or guitar through it, i love the tones i can get when the filter is engaged. i know it’s very, very unlikely that ehx will produce a box solely for the filter matrix, but it’s a dream that i love to dream.
October 15, 2009 at 10:44 am #102267Fender&EHX4everModeratorThe filter matrix is also featured on the original vintage Electric Mistress (both 9v and 18v versions), the vintage EchoFlanger/PolyFlange/PolyChorus units, the reissued Stereo PolyChorus, and the new XO Stereo Electric Mistress. That’s quite a few pedals to choose from already.

In laymans terms, a through zero flanger set to do the jet-plane swoosh will eventually pass through a notch of silence (the zero point).
The filter matrix freezes a notch, so it behaves more like a sort of metallic sounding equalizer.

It is, unfortunately i can’t tell you how just yet! I own the pedal for what, 3 months now and i still have absolutely no idea how it works!!! :facepalm: :freak: Every time i use it it is like trying to pilot the Enterprise :poke: . I will try it tomorrow and give you the settings if i manage to get the sound. I know i did before!

That’s quite a few pedals to choose from already.and then there’s all the thousands of ‘4 knob flangers’ that can be dialed in to the filter matrix and i’m sure you can mod any analogue flanger to turn off the sweep somehow. doesn’t seem that necessary to have it in a standalone box.

I’t does not seem like a totally bad idea, maybe a little bit underrated, but there are some EHX pedals that are underrated and currently on production…
