Hi, apologies if this is covered elsewhere in the support forums but my searching hasn’t found it and it doesn’t appear to be covered in the 1440 manual. When choosing to export a 8.5 MB mp3 file to the 1440 using the Mac app, it appears to have increased the file size on export to over 50 MB. Can you shed light on how mp3 files are converted on export to the 1440 looper? Does it sound right that the file size should increase so much? And are there recommendations on file types to export to the 1440? There are a lot of backing tracks available on the web and knowing something about this would help me screen out files that are suboptimal.
Thanks in advance!
Drew
The native audio format for the 1440 is 44.1kHz/24-Bit/Stereo. When you choose to export a file to the 1440 that is in some other format, say mp3, the EHX1440 app first converts the mp3 to the 1440’s native format then copies it over to the 1440. Nearly all .wav file versions of an .mp3 (at 44.1/24-bit) will be significantly larger than the mp3 file after conversion, which is why you saw the file increase to 50MB.
Thanks for the quick response!
