yeah, if i manage to remove it ill certainly replace it with a different screw type! hopefully ill manage it as itd be ridiculous to have to exchange an item over something as little as a cheap screw!
The guys at the shop I bought it from have kindly offered to remove and replace the screws! I wish I’d asked sooner rather than simply worrying. So thanks to Sounds Great Music!
Muff’n idea from my previous experience:
I hate the power supplies on the tube pedals (I have the Hot Tubes and the Muff’n). So I decided to hardwire the psu to the pedal and OMG! There is hole in the bottom of the pedal you can run the cord out of and it is really simple plus it seems way more stable. I used to get this “crackling static” sound sometimes with the Muff’n and it’s pure as gold now. I would encourage any of you who use your Muff’n regularly and plan on keeping it to do this.
Finally got those blasted screws out! Am enjoying playing around with these new tubes (12AX7 and 5751) I think I agree that it can become a bit too much, gain-wise with both in – I’m glad I didn’t buy 2 12AX7s! I’ll probably stick with 12AX7 / 5751 on the left and the original 12AY7 on the right.
has anybody had any experience with “Cryo Valves” (http://www.watfordvalves.com/special.asp):
“biggest area of interest to guitarists will be in the dramatic effect Cryo has on the way the tube or valve provides such a clear and unmuddled distortion.”
“biggest area of interest to guitarists will be in the dramatic effect Cryo has on the way the tube or valve provides such a clear and unmuddled distortion.”
this seems like marketing hype to me
Well, most tubes are just rebranded and all come from the same factory (wasn’t that EHX?)
